The future of Education
Education systems have become increasingly detached from the reality and requirements of global economies and societies as globalisation and rapid technological breakthroughs continue to reshape civic space and the world of work. The general educational sector must change in order to provide the next generations with the skills they need to make the world a more diverse, united, and productive place. (GreenSchool, 2020)
The World Economic Forum published a paper in January 2020 that highlighted 16 outstanding schools throughout the world that are successfully educating students for the next "Industrial Revolution.” These schools were created in order to enhance new views, new schools and teaching methods to help prepare the next generation for a fast-changing labour market by providing them the tools and knowledge required for the future. (Fleming Sean Fleming, 2020)
I believe that higher education institutions still need more resources and better conditions to work with knowledge transfer within and between institutions in order to spread the best practises for working with high-quality teaching following the digital transformation. The educational system is what provides the next generation their knowledge, which is why it is not about the educational system having to keep up with developments anymore, it must be the first to adapt to our future society.
